Our Business
At B. Tree Gems, our primary focus is on the procurement and expert faceting of gemstones. We take pride in our ability to transform raw gemstones into stunning gemstone jewelry pieces that are accurately represented and fairly priced. Our secondary business involves the intricate design and manufacturing of custom jewelry. With a global customer base, we are especially dedicated to serving the US market, catering to over 2000 commercial accounts that include gemstone suppliers, gem dealers, designers, and jewelry stores.
Our Team
The cornerstone of B. Tree Gems is our unwavering commitment to customer service and fostering long-term business relationships. Suvapriya Koonmas (Ma'am) leads our customer service, jewelry design, and order fulfillment efforts. Meanwhile, Charles Riedel (Chap), an American with over 50 years of business experience and more than two decades in the gem and jewelry industry, guides our team in gemstone procurement, cutting operations, and gemstone wholesale.

About the owner
Charles A. Riedel (Chap): Your trusted gemstone expert
Charles A. Riedel, born in York, Pennsylvania, is a US citizen residing in Thailand. A lifelong entrepreneur, Charles has founded and operated numerous businesses, honing his skills in legal, accounting, business development, personnel management, sales, marketing, and communications.
He studied Production Management at Penn State University and completed a two-year management training program at Caterpillar Tractor Co. His passion for gemstones began in 1975 with ROC, a manufacturer of lapidary equipment in Cody, Wyoming. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in mining, cutting gemstones, manufacturing jewelry, and retail and wholesale sales.
In 2002, Charles established his gem-cutting business in Chiang Mai, Thailand, followed by the opening of a retail store in 2009. This store features gemstones, jewelry, fossils, and minerals. He also serves as a wholesaler to gem dealers and directly to jewelry stores, leveraging established sources for gemstone material and distribution channels. Known for his approachable and professional demeanor, Charles is always ready to share his extensive knowledge and passion for gemstones with customers and colleagues alike.
